Realm of Champions
Strictly speacking, the Realm of Champions (RoC) is the final map in this version of Diablo. You play among the gods themselves on a backdrop of nothing other than stars and spirits of the slain. On this map, you will encounter a party of 7 characters -
one of each of the player characters completely armed like the heroes you and your party are. Should you defeat the RoC, you will be rewarded with a class specific Spiritstone that adds 10 SAPs to your class specific charm.
However, it should be noted that the journey is long. To qualify for this
fight among the gods, your hero must venture through the Halls of the Rotting: souls that failed to achieve much of anything while wandering their world aimlessly without gratitude. The Halls of the Rotting are ruled by Nagash - a powerful Undead Mage and Summoner. Should you find a way to reach the Undead
Throneroom, you can defeat him there and he will add his power to you only after you have proven worthy by defeating Realm of Champions.
Beyond the Halls of the Rotting are the Halls of the Beast. Here you will find exiled demons who somehow failed their sinister masters. They will relentlessly
attack you in the hope of earning an escape from this acursed place. The ruler of this plane of Hell is Diablo himself who inhabits the Demon Throneroom. Just like Nagash, he too will offer you his power only if you prove worthy against the Realm of Champions.
The third set of Halls are the Halls
of the Tortured. These are those who willfully rebelled against the powers of Heaven and fell. These are they who were ambitous, courageous, and powerful - seeking immortality among the gods. Now, they wander the Halls tortured by their failure. To mock their torture, the Guardians of the Eternal world are within plain sight. Defeat the Guardians and enter into the final battle - the Realm of Champions.
This handful of maps collectively constitute the general area players on the forum call the Realm of Champions. Good luck should you decide to venture there.
